Festival Fever

When it’s time to die, let us not discover that we have never lived -Henry David Thoreau

Hello World Welcome to my new blog "The Festival Fitness".

Festivals are nothing but a way to bring you closer to your friends and family. This blog is about how you can manage your fitness during festival season and how you can fight with all those negative thoughts which keeps killing your mind -Such as,

1-I should not eat more sweets (Weigh gain fever)
2-Guilty Felling(why did i ate so much)
3-Depression-(The fear of checking weight on weight scale and blaming yourself for eating those extra calories)
4-Shit "I missed a workout"(I think i am out of shape because i missed a workout)

MIND GAMES

When i say "The mind games" that means all those negative thoughts which keeps killing you is just a trap which you have created in your mind .You have put yourself in a situation where belly rules the mind.Let me explain  how you can fight with all those negative thoughts.

Negativity is something which can destroy you completely and this is the first step which can lead to depression.Studies shows that depressed people tend to gain weight faster than people who aren't depressed.During festivals you tend to eat more because some foods, especially foods with high sugar/or fat content, make you feel better and that good feeling makes you want to eat more, which in turn makes you feel bad about yourself. There is a famous proverb "When the stomach is full the heart is glad'".

Now the point is do you really want to blame yourself for eating all those extra calories on festivals Well I think "NO'.Eating is not how much or what you eat, but your attitude towards food,if you feel like eating more sweets and processed food on festivals, Don't stop yourself on that day and trust me one or two days of bad eating will never make any difference if you are following a healthy lifestyle (workout and healthy eating). Some people start dieting when they  get on that weight scale but believe me dieting is just a myth to lose weight .You don,t have to do anything extra, just try to  follow the same  routine which you have been following before festival and please invest your time with family and friends rather than thinking about all those negative thoughts.Festivals bring happiness and when you are happy you are always positive and when you are positive then negativity cannot effect your mind.

The Day after Festival

Let me discuss about the workout now,I have seen people taking revenge from their body the very next day they hit gym because they feel bad about the treatment they have given to their body  during festival by eating crap.

Every day you can make a fresh start so you don't have to feel bad about anything,Go for a full body workout rather than sweating on stair master/treadmill.

1.Start with warm up and stretching.(skipping and sprints are always my first priority)
2 Go with full body weight training(If you feel like you don't have enough strength then go for light weight and more reps and believe me all those negative thoughts which were killing you will be erased )
3-Hydrate yourself to flush out the impurities.
4-What you do today can improve all your tomorrows(don't worry one day is enough to get back on track so without thinking much about past, Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can)

Ending my blog with my favorite lines from Bruce lee

Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.
If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done.
A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer
